On Tuesday, February 27th, an online event titled “Revolutionizing Medicine and Healthcare: The Power of HPC, AI, and ML for Advanced Medical Solutions” was organised by National Competence Center SLING Slovenia, targeting researchers and industry professionals in the medicine and health sectors. The event aimed to shed light on the transformative potential of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern healthcare.

Presenters emphasized the crucial synergy between technology and medicine, showcasing how HPC and AI play pivotal roles in advancing medical frontiers, optimizing patient outcomes, and revolutionizing the landscape of eHealth applications.

The event concluded with the presentation of the QUSTom project, designed to revolutionize breast cancer diagnosis and screening through supercomputing-based radiation-free imaging. Ana María Rodriguez, Head of Women Imaging at the Breast Cancer Center in Vall d’Hebron Hospital, and Jan Harej, Head of Research and Development at Arctur, provided valuable insights into this research project.
